Focal point is where an object or person is the main point of interest in the photo, so that when someone sees the photo that is what their eye would be immediately drawn to.The focal point of a lens or mirror is the point in space where parallel light rays meet after passing through the lens or bouncing off the mirror. A "perfect" lens or mirror would send all light rays through one focal point, which would result in the clearest image.

FACTUAL: Vee Speers, an Australian artist, has lived and worked in Paris since 1990. Speers studied fine art and photography at the QCA in Brisbane before working as a Stills Photographer at the ABC Television in Sydney in the 80′s. After moving to Paris she began exhibiting her series ‘Bordello’ , followed by The Birthday Party, Immortal and Thirteen, engaging viewers with the dramatic tension of her portraits and her unique pallet of colour.
CONTEXT: this photo is one of her photos from 'the birthday party' These portraits of children confront us with reminders of our own childhood, whereby a homemade costume can transform you into a superhero, princess, cowboy or soldier, poised for adventures and hours of fun and excitement. The escapes that these worlds of play can provide disclose the underlying realities of the modern world, wrought with conflict and violence.
TECHNICAL: i think this photo was taken with a Digital camera ad taken outside and used a fast movement shutter because if you look closely you can see that the skirt is moving. i think it was taken in a studio.
AESTHETIC: I like this photo because it shows focal point well as you are drawn to the bubble.
EXAMPLE- Focal point:
As you can see that the lines are going to the middle of the page and thats were you focus on.
This is an example, you focus on the middle of the flower.
