Independant Research - Vee Speers

Vee Speers is an Australian Photographer who is based in Paris. She studied at Queensland College of Art before working as a stills photographer for the ABC television. In the early 90's she moved to France and has since worked in fashion and photojournalism. Today she is a well established fine-art photographer with her work appearing is many well known exhibitions and publications.


FACTUAL:  these picture was taken by Vee Speers, who is an Australian photographer. I think her art has emotion that can surprise the viewer.  

CONTEXT: These photo is from her series called "the birthday party“  

TECHNICAL:  I think these photo was taken in a studio with a green screen with a DCLR camera, as you can see the background is light but she is dark ad shows emotion. 

AESTHETICS: what i like about these photos is that they all show emotion and the take you back to when  you used to dress up.

This set of photographs is from her 'Birthday Party' series it was published in 2008. i think these photos remind you of your childhood, when you were young you always wanted to dress up. Vee Speers has made these photo dramatic by making the faces look directly at the camera. this draws the viewer.



This is another series by Vee Speers called 'Thirteen' she took theses after 'The Birthday Party'. hey are of her daughter when she was thirteen. She was trying to capture the transitions from child to teenager.

TECHNICAL: I think these photos were taken in a studio, on a stand so they it doesn't show any blurred affect
.
AESTHETICS: I like these photos because they have a good effect and it shows emotion.
